Russian, Turkish defense ministers discuss grain deal again at Turkey’s initiative

MOSCOW, November 1. /TASS/. Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu discussed the grain deal with his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar for a second time in two days. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the telephone conversation was held at Turkey’s initiative.

"On November 1, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, at the initiative of the Turkish side, held telephone conversations with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Turkey, Hulusi Akar," the Defense Ministry said. Previously Shoigu and Akar discussed the issue on Monday, October 31.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that "the discussion of Russia’s suspension of the agreements on the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports as part of the Black Sea grain initiative" was continued.

Earlier, the Defense Ministry said that due to the October 29 terrorist attack, committed by the "Kiev regime with the participation of British specialists" against Black Sea Fleet ships and civilian vessels involved in ensuring the security of the grain corridor, "the Russian side suspends participation in the implementation of agreements on the export of farm produce from Ukrainian ports".
