Kjetil Jansrud of Norway has won gold in men's 1,000 m Supergiant at Sochi Olympics

Gold is not his first medal at the Sochi Olympics, though. He has already won bronze in downhill

SOCHI, February 16, 11:49 /ITAR-TASS/. Kjetil Jansrud of Norway has won gold in men's 1,000 m Supergiant at the 22nd Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. He did the distance in 1:18:14.

Andrew Weibrecht of the U.S. won silver upon reaching the finish line at 1:18:44. Two athletes at a time, Bode Miller of the U.S. and Jan Hudec of Canada, showed a result qualifying them for bronze -- 1:18:67.

Kjetil Jansrud was born August 28, 1985, in the Norwegian town of Stavanger. He won silver in giant slalom at the 2014 Olympics in Vancouver.

Gold is not his first medal at the Sochi Olympics, though. He has already won bronze in downhill.

Jansrud has taken part in only two world championships and the best result he showed there was the ninth position in the supercombined event. in 2009.

His hobbies include playing the guitar and football. He is a fan of Liverpool football club.
