MOSCOW, February 15. /TASS/. Russian fighter and UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has paid the fine to the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), the athlete's team told TASS.
"The Nevada State Athletic Commission has already received the fine. Moreover, just as Khabib promised, he covered the fines of his peers ($50,000) and lawyer's services ($200,000)," a representative of the team said.
Nurmagomedov defeated Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor during the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 229 tournament in Las Vegas on October 6, defending his lightweight title. After the fight, a mass brawl broke out between the teams of both fighters, including Nurmagomedov, who jumped out of the cage and attempted to beat up one of the Irish opponent’s team members for insulting him.
Nurmagomedov was disqualified for nine months and fined $500,000 for the incident.
