MOSCOW, May 7. /TASS/. Since the start of the special military operation, 85 children in Russia have been killed and another 220 injured in strikes by the Ukrainian military, Presidential Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova said.

"Since the start of the special military operation, 85 children have been killed and 220 injured," Lvova-Belova told Vesti.

The children’s rights commissioner said she shared these figures during a meeting in late April with Vanessa Frazier, the United Nations secretary-general’s special representative for children and armed conflict. Lvova-Belova added that she also informed the UN representative about the growing number of Russian children being drawn into extremist activities by the Ukrainian side. According to her, children are initially offered easy money, but this later turns into intimidation and pressure to commit crimes.

"It was important for us to talk about this and about the infrastructure destroyed by the Ukrainian side, including schools, hospitals, and residential buildings," Lvova-Belova said.
