SOCHI, December 3. /TASS/. Russia needs to institutionalize social and political life, similar to the way the US does, TASS Director General Andrey Kondrashov said at a working group meeting of the St. Petersburg Dialog forum.
"The United States is as institutionalized as it gets. Regardless of who is in power, whether a Democrat or a Republican - we understand full well that the general strategic line stays the same in America. The policy of deterring Russia and deterring China will stay in place, no matter the president," Kondrashov said. "This is one of those rare occasions where we should borrow from the Americans," he noted.
Kondrashov also recalled the hope expressed by President Vladimir Putin at the Valdai Club meeting that the next president would follow his path. "Many political scientists said at that time that this is the center of the Valdai Club discussion because this is the victory of traditionalists and Slavophiles over pro-Westerners that were struggling all that time. This is a debatable issue. I do not think this victory has come yet, it’s still to come, together with the victory in the special military operation," he noted.
The country needs this US-style institutionalization of public-political life to ensure "Putin’s unconditional correctness in Russia," Kondrashov stressed. The government's strategy should not depend on the personality of the president, he added.
