Foreign trip is personal responsibility and personal risk, cautions Russian official

At present, Russia has resumed flights with 38 countries, and ten more will be added on the list on June 28

MOSCOW, June 23./TASS/. Foreign countries have no direct responsibilities as to the delivery of medical care to the Russians who fall ill on their territory. That is why, Russians traveling abroad must have travel insurance and understand that any trip abroad is their personal responsibility, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said on Wednesday.

"There are no direct obligations [of foreign countries to us], but every country — and we have warned out tourists of this — informs about their requirements and the measures taken in case a person falls ill on the territory of that state as well as about what they must have on them. First of all, we are talking about relevant insurance, and we drew most serious attention to that together with Rosturizm (Federal Agency for Tourism) , even last year," Golikova told a government meeting chaired by President Vladimir Putin.

"In fact, a trip abroad is a personal risk and personal responsibility of each person," President Putin stressed. At present, Russia has resumed flights with 38 countries, and ten more will be added on the list on June 28. Some foreign countries have already announced their readiness to let in the Russians vaccinated against coronavirus with Russian vaccines, Golikova stressed.
