Russia interested in engaging private companies in space sphere — Putin

"The main point is that the government is interested in it. [It] is interested in involving private companies in this important joint effort," the head of state said

KOROLYOV, October 26. /TASS/. The government is interested in engaging private companies in the joint work in the space sphere, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with young scientists and professionals of the space sector.

"The main point is that the government is interested in it. [It] is interested in involving private companies in this important joint effort," the head of state said.

There is a need to create conditions, where market forming is the main one among them, "so that it is beneficial to work in this sphere," the Russian leader noted. "I think a portion of funds should not be sent directly to state companies making something from the space but state resources should be directed to consumers of these services, so that they can order and increase the customer’s role in this case on the whole," Putin added.
