Social facilities, homes damaged by Ukrainian missile attack on Rylsk — acting governor

According to sources, the 18th century Assumption Cathedral and the Church of the Ascension of the Lord were also damaged in the missile attack

KURSK, December 20. /TASS/. Social and sports facilities and homes have been damaged as a result of a missile attack by the Ukrainian military on the town of Rylsk in the Kursk Region, 124 kilometers west of Kursk, the region’s acting governor Alexander Khinshtein has said on his Telegram channel.

"The Nazis deliberately choose civilian facilities and institutions of social infrastructure as targets of their strikes. The buildings of the House of Culture, physical fitness center, teacher training college, school, firefighting depot and private households were damaged," he wrote.

According to TASS sources, the 18th century Assumption Cathedral and the Church of the Ascension of the Lord were also damaged in the missile attack.

Earlier, Khinshtein said that at about 12:30 pm GMT the town of Rylsk came under a Ukrainian missile attack. Several HIMARS missiles were shot down. There were casualties. Russia’s Investigative Committee launched criminal proceedings under article 205 of the Criminal Code (terrorist act).
