Putin says he gained much from former French President Jacques Chirac

The French politician passed away on September 26, 2019, at the age of 87

MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. Former French President Jacques Chirac always had something to teach, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at his annual press conference and Q&A session.

"Former French President Jacques Chirac was a very remarkable person. He was like an encyclopedist or academic, always having all the answers. He had his own opinion on everything, and adhered to it firmly. He was a very honorable and gallant man. I learned a lot from him," Putin responded to a question about a living or deceased person with whom he would like to have a cup of tea.

Jacques Chirac served as president of France for two terms. After he completed his political career, he engaged in social and humanitarian activities. The politician passed away on September 26, 2019, at the age of 87.
