ISTANBUL, December 17. /TASS/. Russia amid Western sanctions regularly holds conversations with Turkey on the issue of payments for goods supplied within bilateral trade, Russia’s consul general in Istanbul Andrey Buravov told TASS.
"The US sanctions policy on Russia, including in the light of putting Gazprombank on the list of restrictions, negatively influences the development of Russia-Turkey trade and economic cooperation. Russia regularly holds consultations with the Turkish side on the issue of payments for goods supplied within bilateral trade, including in the light of sanctions imposed against Gazprombank," the diplomat said.
Gazprombank was blacklisted in late November. Turkey announced later that restrictions were negatively affecting the republic. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Moscow was addressing the issue of method of payment for gas with all European countries, as well as Turkey, after the sanctions were imposed.
