MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. The West will extend the agony of Vladimir Zelensky's neo-Nazi regime in its proxy war against Russia to the bitter end, Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), said in an interview with the National Defense magazine.
"The West will continue the agony of Zelensky's neo-Nazi regime in its proxy war against Russia until the last moment. Washington's authorization to strike deep inside Russia with long-range US missiles, discussions about the introduction of a foreign contingent to Ukraine, particularly the French military - all of this is escalating tensions and, consequently, increasing the risk of irreparable consequences," the MP said.
Slutsky stressed that the Russian government had repeatedly expressed its willingness to resolve issues through political and diplomatic means. "However, Washington and its allies have systematically established an anti-Russian stronghold in Ukraine, pushing NATO closer to our borders. It was the West that ignored Russia's December 2021 proposals for equal and indivisible security and legal guarantees for our country. The West provoked the special military operation, sabotaged the signing of the Istanbul peace agreements, and declared Russia’s strategic defeat as its ultimate goal," the head of the Duma committee said.
Slutsky reaffirmed that Russia is ready to defend its national interests and security by all possible means.
