MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Russia is confidently maintaining its third place in the world in terms of food supplies at large and the first one as regards wheat supplies, President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting of the Council for National Projects.
In 1988, the USSR purchased almost 35 mln metric tons of grain, while Russia supplied 66 mln metric tons to international markets in 2023, and "this is the indicator that is the best to speak for itself," the president noted.
"Russia steadily holds the third place in the world by food deliveries at large and maintains the first place by wheat supplies," Putin said.
Agricultural producers should be timely provided with funding, the head of state continued. "We need at present not to have any failures at all. The spring fieldwork should be provided with timely funding," he added.
