Thirteen displaced Russians from Kursk Region found in Ukraine, ombudsperson says

"We are negotiating with the Ukrainian side their possible return to Russia," Tatyana Moskalkova said

MOSCOW, November 11. /TASS/. Thirteen Russians displaced from the Kursk Region have been found in the Sumy Region of Ukraine, and negotiations are underway on their return to Russia, Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova has told the media.

"We have reliable information about 13 citizens of Russia who have been moved to the Sumy Region of Ukraine. We are negotiating with the Ukrainian side their possible return to Russia," Moskalkova said when asked about the fate of displaced Kursk Region residents in Ukraine.

The most important thing, she said, is to ensure that the civilians from the Kursk Region who have been taken to the territory of Ukraine be safe and provided with everything they need. It is likewise crucial to achieve their return home as soon as possible.

Ukraine’s massive attack on the Kursk Region began on August 6. A federal level state of emergency is in effect there. The operation to wipe out the Ukrainian incursion is continuing.

Earlier, Moskalkova said that there was data concerning residents, forcibly removed by Kiev from the territory of the Kursk Region, with whom there is no contact. Moskalkova has repeatedly addressed the Ukrainian ombudsman, Dmitry Lubinets, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the international community with a request to provide data on these people.
