Russia to assess Armenia-EU-US talks after Yerevan publishes official statements

Dmitry Peskov noted that Moscow does not know "the full agenda of this meeting" as of now

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. Russia will be able to evaluate Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken only after Yerevan publishes official statements on this issue, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

"As of now, we don't know the full agenda of this meeting, although we have already received certain reports," Peskov said, adding that it was now necessary to wait "for official statements from the Armenian side that explain what they meant by holding talks on transatlantic integration."

"We have not seen or heard anything about it," Peskov said. "This is where we are at now."

The Armenian prime minister’s press office announced on Thursday that "On April 5, a trilateral meeting between Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled."

Yerevan claimed that the upcoming meeting would have nothing to do with geopolitical issues and was not aimed against other countries. However, Armenia previously said that the talks might focus on the country getting closer to integration with the European Union and NATO.
