MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. A meeting of deputy foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, Syria and Turkey will take place in Moscow next week, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told a news conference following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday.

"Today we held a discussion with my counterpart Mr. Lavrov. Next week, a quadripartite meeting at the level of deputy ministers will be held here," he said, answering a corresponding question.

The Iranian foreign minister noted that the main goal of the meeting would be to "bring Turkey and Syria's views closer together."

"Tehran and Moscow will also exert efforts to bring their views closer together. If some framework is determined at next week’s talks, the next meeting may be held at the foreign minister level," he pointed out.

The deputy foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, Syria and Turkey were to meet in Moscow in March to discuss preparations for a ministerial meeting on ways of normalizing relations between Ankara and Damascus.
