West struggling to promote anti-Russian initiatives on Ukraine at United Nations — mission

"But nevertheless, for the Western bloc, it has become harder and harder to promote decisions of the same magnitude as it was at the initial stage of the special military operation," Dmitry Polyansky concluded

UNITED NATIONS, March 10. /TASS/. More countries at the United Nations have been wondering why the West is supplying weapons to Kiev while claiming that it is committed to peace in Ukraine, with Western delegations now struggling to promote anti-Russian initiatives, First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said in an interview with The Dive YouTube channel.

"With the pace of time, more and more countries started to ask the question why is it happening, why has it [the escalation] happened, why would Russia all of a sudden launch this special military operation. So, they have started to listen to our arguments, on the one hand, and on the other hand, of course, they were seeing that Western countries were part of this conflict," the Russian diplomat said on Thursday. "Very quickly, it has become obvious that it is not Russia and Ukraine that are fighting in Ukraine right now, it’s NATO’s proxy war against Russia with the hands of the Ukrainians until the last Ukrainian," he added.

"Everybody at the UN is now seeing this, and asking, `Look, guys, you are supplying weapons to Ukraine. We don’t know how many people died. <...> How can you really be doing this and pretending that you are interested in peace?" Polyansky underscored. "More and more countries are asking these questions, more actively" in private, "Western countries have immense possibilities of pressing those countries who try to pursue an independent policy."

"But nevertheless, for the Western bloc, it has become harder and harder to promote decisions of the same magnitude as it was at the initial stage of the special military operation," Polyansky concluded.
