G20 foreign ministers stress importance of full implementation of grain deal — document

The agreements on the export of food from Ukraine were concluded on July 22 for a period of 120 days

NEW DELHI, March 2. /TASS/. The G20 Foreign Ministers called for the full implementation of the provisions of the agreements on the export of agricultural products from Ukraine by sea, according to the chair's summary and outcome document published after the meeting in New Delhi.

"We underline the importance of full, timely, improved and continued implementation by all relevant stakeholders of the Black Sea Grain Initiative and the Memorandum of Understanding between Russia and the UN Secretariat, that was brokered by Turkiye and the UN on 22 July 2022 as a package, to reduce global food insecurity and to enable unimpeded flows of more food and fertilizers to developing countries in need," the G20 statement reads.

The agreements on the export of food from Ukraine were concluded on July 22 for a period of 120 days. One of the agreements regulating grain exports from the Kiev-controlled ports of Odessa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny. The other deal inked between Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and the UN provides for the establishment of a four-party coordination center whose representatives inspect grain ships in order to prevent arms smuggling and false flag operations. Additionally, Russia and the UN signed a memorandum, under which the organization was supposed to engage in efforts to lift anti-Russian restrictions preventing the export of agricultural products and fertilizers. In November, the grain deal was extended for another 120 days.
