WASHINGTON, February 28. /TASS/. Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov urged Washington on Monday to reconsider its aggressive anti-Russian policies in order to revive New START.

"Our decision to suspend participation in New START was the only right one under the circumstances. We continue to comply with the quantitative limitations of the Treaty. To create the conditions for a return to full-scale operation of New START, Washington must reconsider its hostile anti-Russian policy," the Russian embassy quoted Antonov as saying.

This was how the Russian envoy commented on attempts by Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance at the US Department of State Mallory Stewart to shift the blame for the situation around New START on Moscow.
