A series of significant high-level political exchanges, especially the visit to Vietnam by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, have deepened bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko said in an interview with TASS on the occasion of Diplomats’ Day, celebrated in Russia on February 10.

According to him, despite the coronavirus pandemic and the difficult geopolitical situation in the world in 2022, Russia and Vietnam have maintained positive dynamics in bilateral ties and significantly intensified them in the post-pandemic period. "The past year was marked by positive dynamics in bilateral ties between our countries. A number of significant high-level political interactions, primarily the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Vietnam, have helped deepen cooperation in a wide range of areas," the ambassador said.
