Russia, DRC drafting agreements to be signed during Russia-Africa summit — ambassador

A number of bilateral projects can only be implemented with the participation of large Russian companies, Russian diplomat Alexei Sentebov said

MOSCOW, February 8. /TASS/. Russia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) are drafting a number of agreements to be signed during the upcoming second Russia-Africa summit this summer, Russian Ambassador to that country Alexey Sentebov said on Tuesday.

"Indeed, we have a lot of matters that require the soonest resolution. We are drafting a number of agreements to be signed on the summit’s sidelines," he said in an interview with Russian TV Channel One.

According to the Russian diplomat, several bilateral projects can be implemented only with the participation of large Russian companies, so priority attention during contacts on the margins of the summit will be paid to economic cooperation and humanitarian ties between the two countries, and other topics.

Roscongress said earlier that the second Russia-Africa summit and economic forum were planned for July 26-29. The first such summit was held in Sochi from October 22-24, 2019 under the motto "For Peace, Security and Development.".
