Lavrov condemns Ukraine’s 'colonial’ policies against Russian speakers

According to the minister, "it is to combat these unlawful and openly anti-Russian policies of the Ukrainian regime" and to prevent Ukraine from posing security threats to Russia that Moscow has been conducting its special military operation

LUANDA /Republic of Angola/, January 25. /TASS/. For years, the West has been using Ukraine to pursue its colonial policy against Russian-speaking people, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday.

"At the request of our colleagues, we shared our opinion on the latest developments in Ukraine. We focused on those actions by the West which have for many years built up the causes to use Ukraine as an instrument in a hybrid war against our country," Russia’s top diplomat said at a news conference following talks with his Angolan counterpart Tete Antonio.

"Also, Ukraine was used for overtly colonial policies against Ukraine’s Russian-speaking people," Lavrov added.

According to Lavrov, "it is to combat these unlawful and openly anti-Russian policies of the Ukrainian regime" and to prevent Ukraine from posing security threats to Russia that Moscow has been conducting its special military operation.
