MOSCOW, June 6. /TASS/. The flight of the United States from Afghanistan is a lesson for all countries that are thinking of allowing the Americans and NATO to deploy military infrastructure on their territory, Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Rashid Nurgaliyev said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta on Monday.
"What happened in Afghanistan is a good lesson for everyone in the world who is willing to blindly trust Washington. Americans left the country and left the problems they created to be solved by the Afghans themselves and the countries of the region, which are now forced to shoulder this heavy burden," he stressed. Nurgaliyev added that "all CIS countries have understood how cautious they should be regarding the attempts of the US and NATO to install military infrastructure in their countries."
The Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary also pointed out that Russia believes that "such initiatives are inadmissible in any form."
Nurgaliyev stated that Washington made numerous attempts to destabilize the countries of the post-Soviet region. He reminded that in 2020 the West spared no efforts and means to organize a coup d'etat in Belarus. "Supporters of the Belarusian opposition, coordinated by the West, organized mass protest actions under the pretext of disagreement with the results of the presidential elections. The suppression of the attempt of a color revolution in the country did not calm the Western countries. Heads of a number of European countries have been very kind to receive in their residences the so-called leaders of the Belarusian opposition, touring the world with calls to do maximum harm to their homeland, and they continue to give them political, organizational, ideological and, most importantly, financial support," he said.
According to the representative of the Russian Security Council, "Washington and its allies have set in motion the generation of unpleasant surprises for the CIS countries in the form of constant threats to their national security." "The shameful flight of the Americans from Afghanistan proved that the US, like an elephant in a china shop, leaves behind destruction. Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and other CIS republics faced the threat of uncontrolled migration and drug trafficking from Afghanistan. Various international terrorist organizations are becoming more active in the Tajik-Afghan border area," he warned.
