Russian military giving hourly reports to Putin on operation in Ukraine — Kremlin

When asked if footage of Putin making decisions on the special operation could be broadcast on TV more often, Dmitry Peskov noted that "the activities of the supreme commander-in-chief cannot be completely public"

MOSCOW, April 21. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin receives hourly reports from the military on how the operation in Ukraine is going, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.

"Certainly, the supreme commander-in-chief receives reports from the military, including the defense minister and the chief of the general staff, not just every day but every hour. He gets information and clarifications about how the special military operation is being carried out," he said. "This is about the president’s permanent activities during the special military operation," Peskov added.

When asked if footage of Putin making decisions on the special operation could be broadcast on TV more often, the Kremlin spokesman noted that "the activities of the supreme commander-in-chief cannot be completely public." In response to a reporter’s request, Peskov said that the presidential office had not hired additional employees in order to ensure Putin’s activities during the special military operation.

On February 24, Putin announced a special military operation based on a request from the Donbass republics. Moscow particularly seeks to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine, ensure the country’s non-nuclear and neutral status and the recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as of Russia's sovereignty over Crimea.
