Lavrov says Russia has documented proof of Kiev’s plan to capture Donbass

Sergey Lavrov added that the West now ignores the facts that preceded the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine

MOSCOW, March 23. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday said that Russia possesses documents confirming Moscow’s concerns that Kiev was preparing to capture Donbass.

"It’s being forgotten that the Ukrainian authorities amassed 100,020 troops along the line of contact, that the shelling intensified sharply, they started talking aloud about plan B, and, as it turns out, that plan did exist, he said in a speech at the Moscow State Institute for International Relations. "There are documents that we now have in our hands, and which clearly showed the validity of our fears that direct aggression was about to start and there will be an attempt to capture Donbass by force of arms."

Lavrov said the West now ignores the facts that preceded the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine. "They say: ‘On February 24, Russia invaded,’" Lavrov shared. "This is a game of words that the West is famous for, and this is a manner of cutting off uncomfortable periods of history, and even the most recent history, as is this case."
