MINSK, January 22. /TASS/. Issues of international security and arms control were in focus of a telephone conversation between Russian and Belarusian Foreign Ministers, Sergey Lavrov and Vladimir Makey, the press service of the Belarusian foreign ministry said on Friday.
"Special attention was focused on issues of international security and arms control. Sergey Lavrov informed his Belarusian counterpart about the Russian side’s approaches to concrete sectors of this sphere. The sides agreed to continue close coordination and cooperation on these matters," the ministry said.
Makey also informed his Russian counterpart about the development of the political situation in Belarus and about the upcoming large-scale political events in that country.
Apart from that, thee two top diplomats discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation in various spheres, as well as cooperation within the Union States and integration structures.
According to the press service, Lavrov congratulated Makey and Belarusian diplomats on Belarus’ Diplomatic Worker’s Day.
