Foreign object found at railroad in Russia’s Samara Region

For the duration of emergency measures, rail traffic along the section has been suspended

MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. A foreign object has been discovered on railroad tracks in the Samara Region with rail traffic being suspended, the Telegram channel of the Kuybyshevskaya railroad said.

"On March 5, 2024, a foreign object was found at a section of railroad infrastructure between the stations of Zhigulevskoye More and Khimzavodskaya (Samara Region). For the duration of emergency measures, rail traffic along the section has been suspended," its statement said.

It is noted that passenger and commuter trains will likely be delayed.

The emergency services told TASS on March 4 that a blast was heard on a railway bridge across the river of Chapayevka in the Samara Region at about 5:00 a.m. local time (1:00 a.m. GMT - TASS). There were no fatalities or injuries. It was noted that an explosive device planted at the bridge was defused.
