Four people, including two minors, in serious condition after Su-34 crash in Yeysk

The injured have combustion products poisoning and upper respiratory tract burns

MOSCOW, October 17. /TASS/. A total of 15 people were hospitalized after the Su-34 plane crash in Yeysk. Four people, including two minors, are in serious condition, says Krasnodar Region Deputy Governor Anna Minkova.

"Currently, there are 15 patients in the Yeysk District Hospital. Four are in serious condition: two adults and two children," Minkova said on Russian TV Monday.

The injured have combustion products poisoning and upper respiratory tract burns.

"We are preparing three patients for transportation, they will be delivered to Krasnodar by medical aviation," Minkova said, adding that one patient, who suffered 70% burn, has already been prepared for transportation.

Earlier, Minkova reported 10 injured, including 3 children. "Current numbers on the injured: 10 people, including 3 children, with 7 adults and 1 child in serious condition.

A Su-34 bomber crashed in a residential area in Yeysk Monday evening. According to the Defense Ministry, the plane crashed because of an engine fire during takeoff; the pilots have ejected. The fuel that spilled during the crash ignited; the fire spread to the nearby multi-story residential building, engulfing all nine stories. According to regional Minister of Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Sergey Shtrikov, 4 people died and 25 people got injured in the crash.
