Transneft restarts oil intake by rail for export shipments in Far East

This route of shipments to the port was not operated since 2016

MOSCOW, December 24. /TASS/. Transneft restarted oil intake by rail from the Gruzovaya station to increase export shipments from the Far Eastern port of Kozmino, the oil pipeline operator said.

This route of shipments to the port was not operated since 2016.

"Transneft - Far East resumed the receipt of trains with oil at the Gruzovaya railway stations. The first train with oil of Gazprom arrived at the Gruzovaya railway station on December 23, 2024 for discharge and subsequent export shipment via the port of Kozmino," the company said.

Transneft expects shipments will become regular and enable increasing shipments of the Russian ESPO oil export bland to Asia-Pacific markets via the port of Kozmino.

The company organized multimodal oil transportation for exports with the use of rail and pipeline transport for shippers having no connection to the main oil pipeline system at present, Transneft said.
