SHANGHAI, November 5. /TASS/. The Russian Export Center (REC) is interested in regular export flows of Russian products to the Chinese market being formed by major distributors, REC chief executive Veronika Nikishina told TASS at the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE).
"We have the huge potential for exporting Russian products to China but many goods have not yet found their buyers thus far. The Chinese partners are not also aware always of new goods we can offer. Insufficient awareness is one of key barriers that we are overcoming, participating in activities where we make Russian exporters familiar with Chinese distributors. Our goal is that major distributors form regular export flows that will be then distributed in Chinese chains. This is one of top priorities," she said.
Nikishina highlighted the high potential of exporting processed agricultural goods to China, speaking about non-resource exports. "Our potential for exports to China is great in the processed goods sphere. This pertains to all the sectors, including dairy, fish and meat products, and confectionery," she noted.
Prospects of exports are in place for positions where the export potential has already established stably, the REC chief executive said. "Two intertwined but opposite trends are seen in the industrial products sphere. Firstly, there is a need to saturate the domestic market in view of the withdrawal of imported counterparts. On the other side, there are sectors with the stable export surplus. Sustainable deliveries to international markets require to be provided for them," Nikishina said.
The CIIE exhibition is being held this year from November 5 to 10.
