Kiev promised victory, but US now starts to realize it was deceived — Kremlin

According to Dmitry Peskov, the Washington administration is now "beginning to ponder on the question of where their money went," because "the Kiev regime promised" that aid worth $100 billion will secure them victory on the battlefield

MOSCOW, December 14. /TASS/. The United States is beginning to realize that it was deceived by the Kiev government, who promised victory on the battlefield, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview to the Izvestia newspaper.

In his words, the Washington administration is now "beginning to ponder on the question of where their money went," because "the Kiev regime promised" that aid worth $100 billion will secure them victory on the battlefield.

"Now the Americans are starting to realize they were deceived. There is no victory on the battlefield. Moreover, the Ukrainian armed forces are rapidly losing their positions, and this process is inevitable," the Kremlin spokesman said.

He said that Russia and Ukraine have "absolutely incompatible military potential, incomparable economic might and so on."

"So, the situation is obvious," the Kremlin spokesman went on, adding that in this regard the United States has begun to think whether it would be feasible to continue pouring billions of dollars of aid into Ukraine.

"That is why [US President Joe] Biden boasted in the White House about signing a degree to allocate $200 million in aid to Ukraine. This is a fairly moderate sum by their standards. This, of course, puts the Kiev government in a predicament, but we will keep watching these developments with interest and, more importantly, we will continue our special military operation," Peskov said.

He went on to say that the United States and its European allies "continue to repeat their mantra about supporting Ukraine for as long as it takes."

"But they have already begun making reservations about doing this whenever possible," Peskov said.
