Russian banks to finance construction of small NPP in Kyrgyzstan

According to Kyrgyz Deputy Energy Minister Taalaibek Baigaziev, the preliminary feasibility study that will show what capacity the plant will have and where it is better to build it, is also being discussed

SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, March 25. /TASS/. Russian banks may finance the construction of a small NPP (nuclear power plant) in Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz Deputy Energy Minister Taalaibek Baigaziev told a forum, adding that the issue is being discussed with Rosatom.

"We together with Rosatom will consider [financing options]. It will be surely necessary to attract donors, probably, Russian banks and other banks," he said.

An interstate loan is being discussed, Baigaziev said, adding that preliminary feasibility study that will show what capacity the plant will have and where it is better to build it, is also being discussed.
