MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to prepare and approve a plan for the development of air travel within the Far Eastern Federal District, so that by 2030 its volume would reach at least 4 million people, according to the Kremlin website.
The order was issued following the results of the Eastern Economic Forum, held on September 10-13, 2023.
"To develop, with the participation of the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation that are part of the Far Eastern Federal District, and approve a comprehensive action plan for the development of air transportation within the Far Eastern Federal District, aimed at ensuring the growth of the volume of such transportation by 2030 to at least 4 million passengers in year," the list says. This order must be completed by March 1, 2024.
The relevant action plan should include the construction and upgrade of airports, the supply the required numbers of domestic aircraft and helicopters for regional and small aviation, reducing the cost of transporting passengers, including through the use of preferential leasing mechanisms, as well as increasing the availability of such transportation.
