Minsk thinks it necessary to launch joint tax body with Russia in 2023

According to Belarusian Finance Minister Yury Seliverstov, "an algorithm is needed on how to act if we need to adjust some rates of terms under the agreement" between Russia and Belarus on the principles of taxation on indirect taxes

MINSK, January 15. /TASS/. Minsk thinks it necessary to launch a joint Belarusian-Russian tax committee in 2023, Belarusian Finance Minister Yury Seliverstov said on Sunday.

"It was a topic for discussion at a meeting with the head of state (Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko - TASS) - to set up a joint supranational collective tax committee. A detailed mechanism of its operation is yet to be developed," he said in an interview with the Belarus-1 television channel.

"It is necessary to set up a join tax body this year. The work on a tax agreement has been somewhat delayed. The task was to do it last year," he said.

According to Seliverstov, "an algorithm is needed on how to act if we need to adjust some rates of terms under the agreement" between Russia and Belarus on the principles of taxation on indirect taxes.

The agreement was signed on October 3, 2022 in Moscow to implement the program of the harmonization of the two countries’ tax and customs laws and develop cooperation in the customs sphere.
