Russian Railways’ loading volumes down 5.3% in September 2022 to 100.8 mln tons

It is noted that year-to-date loading volumes amounted to 921.2 mln tons

MOSCOW, October 3. /TASS/. Russian Railways’ loading volumes decreased by 5.3% in September 2022 year-on-year to 100.8 mln tons, the state-owned railroad monopoly reported on Monday.

"The volume loaded on the network of Russian Railways amounted to 100.8 mln tons in September, down by 5.3% year-on-year. The reduction of exports in the western direction still exerts the main downward pressure," the report said.

Freight turnover fell by 1.8% in September 2022 year-on-year to 213.5 bln tariff ton-kilometers, while freight turnover including empty run lost 2.7% in the same period to 266 bln ton-kilometers, the company said.

Year-to-date loading volumes amounted to 921.2 mln tons, down by 3.6% compared with the same period last year. Year-to-date freight turnover edged up by 0.4% year-on-year to 1.967 trillion tariff ton-kilometers, while freight turnover including empty run slipped by 0.1% in the same period to 2.464 trillion ton-kilometers.
