MC-21 aircraft to be produced fully from Russian components within 2-3 years, says PM

Over $765 mln have already been allocated for those purposes

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. The MC-21 aircraft will be produced fully from Russian components within 2-3 years, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said addressing the State Duma (lower house) on Thursday.

"Last December, a jetliner with a domestically-produced composite wing took to the skies for the first time. The aviation industry plans to complete the work on full import substitution of components and assemblies [of MC-21 aircraft] within 2-3 years. Over 60 bln rubles ($765 mln) have already been allocated for those purposes," he said.

Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said earlier the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) would supply two serial MC-21 jets to the customer by the end of this year.
