Russia's Tyumen to host case championship in 2020

The teams will compete in four fields

TYUMEN, December 3. /TASS/. CaseCupUTMN case championship will be held in Russia's Tyumen in January 2020, the Tyumen State University press service announced. The university will be organizing the event. 

"In January 2020 the Tyumen State University will host CaseCupUTMN contest again", the statement reads. 

The contest will be held in two stages. 

“During the qualifying stage a team will be working on only one case in absentia. The strongest contestants will proceed to the second full-time stage, where they will present and defend their decisions to the top managers of partner companies. The experts will determine the winners of the championship based on their score,” the organizers said.

The championship is based on real cases compiled by leading Russian enterprises. This year the teams will compete in four fields: oil and gas, economy, marketing, legal, IT and management.

"During the tests and case studies, each participant will have a good opportunity for networking with employers, they will get a chance to start a career in their dream companies. The companies, in turn, will be convinced of the participants' extraordinary skills and creativity, test their knowledge, ability to apply analytical and presentation skills," the head of the University Career Center Olesya Gulyaeva was quoted as saying.

According to the press service, students from 18 Russian universities took part in case-championship in 2019. The finalists were offered internships in the largest partner companies, the winners got job offers and prizes in cash.
