MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. The Kalashnikov Company said it would for the first time showcase Bars-L titanium armored helmet at Expotechnostrazh show in St. Petersburg on April 3-5.
"Bars-L has enhanced protective characteristics. It has Br2+ anti-bullet protection. The anti-fragmentation protection sustains a splinter flying at a speed of 700-720 m/sec. It is higher than analogues made of highly molecular polyethylene or aramids have. The protection level is even higher for naturally split fragments," it said.
Bars-L corresponds to Elbrus-T helmet by the protection space and attachments, but has a different form and protective characteristics.
"The helmet is heavier against the analogues, but additional 100-120 grams provide such advantages, which designers believe will be of interest for private buyers and law enforcers," the Kalashnikov said.
