Israel says destroyed third of Iran’s missile launchers

The army reported that since the beginning of the operation, more than 120 missile launchers have been destroyed

TEL AVIV, June 16. /TASS/. The Israeli military has already destroyed one-third of Iranian ground-to-ground missile launchers within its strikes on the republic, the army press service said.

"Since the beginning of the operation, more than 120 missile launchers — constituting one-third of the Iranian regime’s total launchers — have been destroyed," the army reported.

The military noted that last night the Israeli Air Force managed to destroy 20 Iranian ballistic missiles "minutes before they were to be launched toward Israel’s home front."

Around 50 Israeli fighter jets and other aircraft were involved in these night raids, with the destruction of missile launchers being part of their mission. In addition to the launchers, they attacked missile depots and command centers used to plan new attacks on Israeli territory, the military added.

Overnight into June 13, Israel kicked off Operation Rising Lion aimed against Iran’s nuclear program. Iran carried out a retaliatory attack in less than 24 hours. Israel and Iran exchanged strikes again in the following days. Both parties reported casualties and damage, and admitted that a number of facilities had been hit, but said the damage was limited.
