Iranian envoy to Russia expects Israel to answer for inhuman actions against Palestinians

Kazem Jalali expressed confidence that the UN Security Council "should play its role in a more decisive manner" with regard to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict

MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. The Israeli regime is committing the most inhuman actions against Palestinians and will have to answer for them in the future, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said at a press conference dedicated to International Quds Day.

"The Israeli regime’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently committing the most inhuman actions on this territory [Palestine], which are contrary to international law and human rights in the occupied lands. We express solidarity with the Palestinian people and the residents of the Gaza Strip. The crimes of the Israeli regime cannot and will not go on forever and those responsible will answer for their inhuman actions. I am sure that this is the way it will be," the envoy pointed out.

The Iranian diplomat was also confident that the UN Security Council "should play its role in a more decisive manner" with regard to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

On March 18, the Israeli military resumed military operations in Gaza, carrying out intensive strikes on the enclave. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated that the move was due to Hamas’s rejection of proposals put forward by mediators and US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff. According to the Israeli authorities, the goal of the operation is to ensure the release of all hostages held in Gaza. Hamas, in turn, blamed Israel and the US for the resumption of military activities.
