DOHA, March 19. /TASS/. The US Armed Forces have struck the suspected location of one of the leaders of Yemen's Ansar Allah Houthi movement in the capital city of Sanaa, Al Arabiya reported.
According to the channel, one of the Ansar Allah leaders was the target of the US strikes on a neighborhood in Sanaa. The TV channel did not specify whether the strike successfully eliminated him. In addition, the US military targeted Houthi weapons depots located in the area.
Earlier, the Houthi-run Al Masirah TV channel reported that the US had launched an airstrike on an event hall under construction. The strike caused a fire in the building and damaged surrounding structures. Seven women and two children were injured as a result.
According to Al Masirah, the US also targeted a cattle farm in the Al Jawf governorate in northwestern Yemen. Al Arabiya reported that the strikes targeted Houthi rocket launchers stationed at the farm.
On March 15, the US started to carry out massive strikes on Houthi facilities in Yemen based on an order from Trump. The US Central Command said that the goal was to defend American interests and restore freedom of navigation. In response, the Ansar Allah movement attacked the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the northern part of the Red Sea three times, using missiles and drones. According to the latest data from the Houthi health ministry, the US strikes on Yemen have killed 53 people and left at least 98 wounded.
