WASHINGTON, March 19. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky agreed during a telephone conversation that peace in Ukraine can be achieved, according to a joint statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.

The document said that the US administration characterized Trump's conversation with Zelensky as "fantastic." "The leaders agreed Ukraine and America will continue working together to bring about a real end to the war, and that lasting peace under President Trump's leadership can be achieved," the statement emphasized.

According to it, Zelensky thanked Trump for the "productive start for the work of the Ukrainian and American teams in Jeddah on March 11." In a joint statement, Rubio and Waltz emphasized that these contacts "ssignificantly helped in moving toward ending the war." In addition, Zelensky during the conversation expressed gratitude for the delivery of Javelin missile systems to Kiev during the first presidential term of Trump, the document said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump held a telephone conversation on March 18, during which they discussed a 30-day ceasefire, conditions for preventing escalation and a number of international topics. The Russian leader agreed with the US head of state’s proposal on the mutual refusal of the parties to the conflict in Ukraine from strikes on energy infrastructure facilities.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Kiev has since attacked an energy facility in the Krasnodar Region with three drones. Meanwhile, Russian servicemen shot down seven of their drones targeting Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities related to the military-industrial complex after receiving the order to stop strikes on energy facilities.
