WASHINGTON, March 16. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has appointed General Keith Kellogg as special envoy to Ukraine.
"I am pleased to inform you that General Keith Kellogg has been appointed Special Envoy to Ukraine," the US leader wrote on his Truth Social network, extending his congratulations to who he called a highly respected military expert. According to Trump, Kellogg "will deal directly with [Ukraine’s Vladimir] Zelensky, and Ukrainian leadership."
Earlier, Kellogg served as Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine and Russia. Politico reported on March 11 that he had been effectively sidelined from talks on resolving the Ukraine conflict. According to the newspaper, Kellogg did not attend the US-Ukraine talks in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah earlier on that day. "Kellogg’s role is very much in question," a US administration official told Politico.
