MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Zimbabwe supports a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, but it should be based on addressing its root causes, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Amon Murwira said on Thursday.
"Zimbabwe holds a firm position regarding the [Ukrainian] conflict," Murwira said at a joint news conference following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.
"Zimbabwe advocates a peaceful settlement of this conflict by tackling its root causes," Zimbabwe’s top diplomat continued.
"We oppose any action that may lead to escalation," Murwira said, adding that Zimbabwe’s stance on this issue would remain consistent in the future.
