MOSCOW, December 13. /TASS/. Thousands of Ukrainians are returning to Russia, not to Ukrainian territory, because they are dissatisfied with the conditions created by the current authorities for displaced persons, leader of the Other Ukraine movement and former head of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party Viktor Medvedchuk explained.
"The return of thousands of Ukrainian citizens to territories not controlled by Kiev, that is, the deliberate choice of Russia as a state of residence, is one of the main trends of Zelensky’s bankrupt Ukraine. The humiliating and inhumane living conditions created by the government, including for internally displaced persons, make it impossible to survive in such conditions," he wrote in his column on the media platform Smotrim.ru.
According to Medvedchuk, Ukrainians are fleeing Zelensky's regime in large numbers. Even some representatives of the current government acknowledge that the state policy regarding the support of internally displaced persons has actually failed.
"The monthly payments approved by the government remain at the level of 3,000 hryvnias ($72) and 2,000 hryvnias ($48), depending on the category of citizens. Today, paltry payments are received by only 1.2 million displaced persons out of 3.6 million officially registered. Thus, Kiev systematically creates the most difficult conditions for displaced persons in Ukraine," the leader of Other Ukraine explained.
As a result, according to him, the total population of the territories incorporated into the Russian Federation, based on official data from local statistical agencies, reached 8.6 million people this year. Specifically, the population of Crimea and Sevastopol amounts to 2.5 million; the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) - 2.1 million; the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) - 1.4 million; and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, - 1.6 million and 1 million, respectively. "Meanwhile, the population of Ukraine continues to steadily decline. In other words, Russia is gaining population, while Zelensky’s Ukraine is irreversibly losing it," Medvedchuk argued.
He noted that it can be simply explained: it is more advantageous for Ukrainian citizens to live in Russia. "By becoming Russian citizens, Ukrainians will earn more and spend less," he said. Additionally, he emphasized that Ukrainians are also driven to Russia by the desire to protect their lives from the lawlessness of the authorities and rampant corruption at all levels in Zelensky’s Ukraine, where the Russian language, native to the majority of the population, as well as canonical Orthodoxy, the historical faith of the Ukrainian people, are banned.
