Death toll from Israeli strike on Beirut climbs to 11, with 33 people injured

BEIRUT, November 23. /TASS/. At least eleven people were killed and 33 were injured in an airstrike by the Israeli Air Force, the Al Hadath TV channel reported.

According to the television channel, the attack was aimed at eliminating Muhammad Haydar, the chief of the Shia Hezbollah movement’s operation headquarters. Al Hadath previously reported that Talal Hamiyah, the external security chief of the organization, was the target of the strike. It was not specified whether the two militants survived the attack.

Earlier, an emergency operations center at the republic’s Health Ministry reported four casualties and 23 injuries. An eight-story building in Basta Fawqa was completely destroyed in the strike, with five more adjacent buildings damaged. Rescuers are engaged in clearing the debris at the site. The number of victims and those wounded may still increase.
