Kiev not planning to hold presidential elections in 2025, adviser says

"There are no conditions for presidential elections in Ukraine during the war," Mikhail Podolyak stressed

ROME, November 14. /TASS/. No presidential elections are foreseen for Kiev as long as the Russia-Ukraine conflict continues, Ukrainian presidential adviser Mikhail Podolyak said in an interview with La Repubblica newspaper.

"There are no conditions [for presidential elections in Ukraine] during the war," he replied to a question about the possibility of holding elections in 2025.

Earlier, there had been rumors about Kiev's plans to hold presidential elections in Ukraine in the fall of 2025.

Vladimir Zelensky’s term as Ukraine's president officially expires on May 20, 2024. Russian President Vladimir Putin remarked that Ukraine was overlooking the May 2014 decision of its own Constitutional Court, which allowed for the extension of the presidential term.
