Israel's actions require UN condemnation, not timid statements — Hamas official

The Palestinian politician holds the Israeli authorities "responsible for the lives and safety of thousands of abducted and detained people during the military operation in the Gaza Strip"

BEIRUT, April 4. /TASS/. The Palestinian movement Hamas condemns the international community's silence and its failure to confront the crimes Israel has been committing in the Gaza Strip, Hamas leadership member Osama Hamdan has said.

"The Israeli army's attack on the car carrying volunteers of the humanitarian organization World Central Kitchen (WCK) and the massacre of the medical staff of Al-Shifa hospital, the sick and refugees requires the strongest condemnation from the UN, not timid statements that merely encourage the regime of occupation to commit more massacres," Hamdan told a news conference in Beirut, streamed on his Telegram channel.

The Palestinian politician holds the Israeli authorities "responsible for the lives and safety of thousands of abducted and detained people during the military operation in the Gaza Strip."

He claimed that "prisoners are subjected to violence and the worst kinds of torture."

"Urgent international intervention is needed to save these people," Hamdan pointed out. "The US administration and President Joe Biden personally bear political, legal, moral responsibility for all Israeli war crimes and their humanitarian consequences."

On behalf of Hamas, Hamdan called on the Palestinian people "to rally around the resistance forces for the sake of national liberation and of getting rid of the occupation.".
