NEW YORK, April 3. /TASS/. Ukraine and its Western allies cannot outpace Russia in terms of ammunition production, Bloomberg reports.
"The flow of Western military aid into Ukraine has tailed off dramatically," the media outlet writes, citing officials familiar with the situation on the frontline. "Some Ukrainian guns are firing just a single round a day in order to preserve their dwindling stocks," Bloomberg notes.
The agency’s sources say that "Russian forces are now launching seven times as many shells" as Ukraine, which is more than double the rate in January. "Russia’s military industry is working in three shifts and Ukraine’s supplies are shrinking fast," Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas told Bloomberg. "Without our support this war can also be lost," she added.
According to Bloomberg’s sources, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s "allies are increasingly concerned that a summer offensive by the Russians could break through Ukraine’s defenses." "The issues of ammunition scarcity and the risk of a Russian advance are likely to come up" at a NATO foreign ministers meeting in Brussels on April 3-4.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said earlier that the participants would discuss creating a mission to train Ukrainian troops and provide logistics support to the Ukrainian army.
