MINSK, December 4. /TASS/. China is ready to strengthen strategic partnership with Belarus, Chinese leader Xi Jinping said at a meeting in Beijing with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko as he pointed to the latest results of cooperation as part of the Belt and Road Initiative.
"The Chinese side is ready, together with Belarusian partners, to strengthen strategic cooperation in the name of creating a community with a shared future for humankind," BelTA news agency quoted the Chinese leader as saying. For China, maintaining stability and long-term development is very important, Xi emphasized. "We have made great strides in this work. In today's world, titanic changes are taking place, with new risks and challenges emerging. Much of what is happening is unexpected to us," he said.
According to the Chinese leader, both countries have been reaching new agreements at every stage. "My great friend, I am very glad to see you again. As part of your state visit to China in late February and early March of this year, we reached important agreements in favor of the dynamic development of relations between China and Belarus," Xi said. "At every stage, we reach new agreements. Over the course of the year, mutual trust in politics and international cooperation have strengthened. The latest results of cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative are there," he added.
