BUDAPEST, February 7. /TASS/. Prime Minister Viktor Orban urged leaders of the European Union and its member-states to start consultations for reconsideration of sanctions against Russia, press secretary to the Prime Minister Bertalan Havasi said.
The Hungarian Prime Minister participated in a video conference with European colleagues as part of preparation for the EU summit in Brussels on February 9-10. "Regarding Ukraine, Viktor Orban again called for the immediate ceasefire and peaceful talks and for substantive political debates regarding sanctions introduced by Brussels, which are destroying the European economy," Havasi said, cited by the MTI news agency.
President of the European Council Charles Michel, the president of Bulgaria and prime ministers of Poland, Belgium, Finland and Malta took part in the videoconference together with Urban, the press secretary noted. The EU summit will discuss the conflict in Ukraine, the situation in the European economy and the illegal migration control, he added.
